The Courage to Finish: From Struggle to Book Launch

Jun 29, 2025

In 2020, when the world was on pause, I finally sat down to begin writing the story I had held inside me for years. At first, it was simply that—a story. A way to process everything I had experienced, to document the highs, the heartbreak, and the moments of reckoning that changed the course of my life.

But slowly, intentionally, something deeper emerged.

This wasn’t just about me. It became a blueprint for transformation. A raw, vulnerable, and ultimately hopeful roadmap for anyone navigating adversity—whether in life, leadership, or both.

And now, I’m beyond thrilled (and honestly, a little overwhelmed with emotion) to share that I’ve finished and submitted my manuscript to my publisher, Amplify, and my book will launch in early 2026. This moment marks the end of a deeply personal chapter—and the beginning of something I hope will ripple far beyond me.

Why This Book Matters
This book is dedicated first and foremost to my children and family—the ones who stood by me through the most painful, uncertain seasons of my life. But it’s also written for you.

It’s for every human who has ever faced struggle. Every leader, parent, professional, or dreamer who has been brought to their knees by loss, disruption, betrayal, or the weight of expectations.

Struggle comes in many forms:
💔 Medical crises
⚖️ Legal consequences
💸 Financial stress
💼 Career setbacks
💥 Major life transitions
💬 Broken relationships
🖤 Grief that lingers

Struggle is universal. It’s part of what it means to be human. And while we don’t get to choose when or how hardship shows up, we do get to choose how we respond. We get to choose who we become in the face of it.

From Pain to Purpose
My journey—from a high-achieving lawyer and entrepreneur to navigating the fallout of federal prison—forced me to face myself in ways I never expected. It stripped away every title, identity, and illusion of control. And in that quiet space of humility, I began to rebuild.

Over time, I deconstructed my experience into a framework—Reframe. Identify. Surrender. Evolve.—that has helped me, and now helps others, rise through challenge rather than try to outrun it.

Writing this book has been one of the most courageous, cathartic, and confronting things I’ve ever done. There were days I couldn’t bear to write a single word. There were moments of doubt, grief, and healing. But I stayed with it. Word by word. Chapter by chapter.

And now, it’s done.

A Challenge for You
This journey reminded me that the hardest part isn’t starting. It’s finishing.

So here’s my question for you:
What is something you’ve started—but not yet finished?

Maybe it’s a story. A letter. A project. A relationship that needs tending. A dream you tucked away out of fear or doubt.

What’s one step you can take this week to move it forward?
Even five minutes of action can reignite a sense of purpose and momentum. Don’t wait for the perfect conditions. Just begin. Again.

What’s Next
Over the coming months, I’ll be working closely with the Amplify team on editing, refining, designing, and preparing for the launch of my book in early 2026. I can’t wait to bring it to life and put it into the hands of those who need it most.

This book has taught me that healing doesn’t happen in silence. Transformation doesn’t happen alone. And the stories that scare us the most often carry the power to set us free.

To every single one of you who has followed my journey, supported me, challenged me, or simply believed in the possibility of rising—I’m so grateful.

We’re just getting started.

Let’s rise, together.
